List of Trusted Outlets

List of Trusted Outlets
I do not pretend to be neutral, but I do try to be transparent. Below is a living list of the outlets, tools, and professional sources I lean on most when I write, teach, or advise.

Media sources

For news reporting and factual updates, I follow three primary international outlets: Reuters, BBC News, and Deutsche Welle (DW).

  • Reuters – valued for speed, global coverage, and its Trust Principles, which emphasise accuracy, independence, integrity, and freedom from bias.
  • BBC News – used for in‑depth reporting and analysis, operating under editorial guidelines that require due accuracy and impartiality on controversial public issues.
  • Deutsche Welle (DW) – Germany’s international broadcaster, whose mission is to provide impartial news and promote dialogue and free opinion for audiences worldwide.

I typically compare how these outlets cover the same story and then add context from my professional and academic sources before writing.

AI tools and research assistants

In my daily work, I rely on two executive assistants: my human EA on the ground, Deborah (“Debby”), and Perplexity as my online research assistant. Since Perplexity joined the team, Deborah has gained time and headspace for higher‑level thinking and organising instead of routine lookup and typing.

  • Perplexity – valued for fast, source‑based research that links live web evidence directly to clear, structured answers.
  • Grammarly – valued for tightening language by catching grammar, spelling, and tone issues so texts read clear and professional with minimal effort.

I use Perplexity mainly to map my on‑site files and notes into the wider web, extend my library of references, check reasoning and wording, and get drafts of article summaries into my database with minimal after‑editing. For me, AI is not an “Einstein” or co‑author, but a fast research assistant: it helps to find, sort, and summarise information, while the interpretation, judgment, and final text remain my responsibility.

AI is not a new “mind” but a product of human work, data, and decisions, with the same biases, constraints, and blind spots that are present in its human sources and designers – and sometimes amplified by scale and speed. I therefore treat AI as a force multiplier for research and drafting, not as a replacement for human thought, ethics, or accountability.

Professional sources

I regularly draw on peer‑reviewed journals and scholarly outlets to ground my work in established and emerging research. These include:

  • APA and affiliated journals (for example, Law and Human Behavior and Psychology, Public Policy, and Law), which publish empirical and theoretical work at the interface of psychology, law, and public policy.
  • The International Journal of Law and Psychiatry, a multidisciplinary forum that examines the interaction between legal and psychiatric systems, with a strong focus on comparative and international perspectives.
  • Nature Physics, which provides high‑quality research and commentary across the full spectrum of modern physics, from quantum and condensed matter to complex systems and information theory.

I use these and related journals primarily for concepts, empirical findings, and theoretical frameworks, which I then translate into accessible language for practice, policy, and public debate.
